The beautiful, ambitious, wealthy Taoduo falls into the water while walking her dog, and in a bizarre twist, transmigrates to the Kingdom of Nanlu along with her beloved golden retriever, Duoduo. Taoduo transmigrates into the body of a chubby beauty, and a marriage decree makes her empress.
Mo Lan's imperial ancestors taught that the kingdom came first. Yet everything she does makes him fall in love with this chubby woman.
Duoduo is a handsome, gleaming golden retriever: loyal, honest, clever, and brave enough to protect his mistress time and again.
Taoduo is fed up with the palace infighting, which could put Duoduo in danger at any moment, and with being stuck in this chubby body. So she seizes her chance and escapes the palace with her beloved dog, embarking on a path to turn her fortunes around.
Traveling north and south, she meets many exceptional men. In the end, she transforms herself into a successful, wealthy, beautiful young woman.
