Synopsis

"Historical Records" is a biographical general history of China. The book has a total of 130 volumes, including 12 chronicles, 10 tables, 8 books, 30 families, and 70 biographies, with a total of about 526,500 words. It records a history of more than 3,000 years from the Huangdi era in ancient Chinese legends (about 3000 BC) to the first year of Yuanshou (122 BC) of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. It is all-encompassing and comprehensive, with a clear context. "The rise of the king's deeds, the original observation of the end, the prosperity and decline, and the review of the journey" ("Tai Shi Gong's Preface"). The so-called "studying the relationship between heaven and man, and understanding the changes in ancient and modern times" has recorded in detail the development of politics, economy, military, culture and other aspects in ancient times.
