Synopsis

Zhou Shuren (September 25, 1881 - October 19, 1936), courtesy name Hencai. His original name was Zhang Shou, with the aliases of Yushan and Yuting. He is famous for his pen name Lu Xun. A native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang, he was an important Chinese writer in the 20th century, a leader of the New Culture Movement and a supporter of the left-wing cultural movement. The People's Republic of China evaluates him as a modern writer, thinker, and revolutionary.
