I’d Rather Be a Favored Consort Than the Empress

In her previous life, Su Jinyan was an empress who spent her entire life as a substitute. After scheming and plotting at every turn, she was ultimately killed by her own husband, bringing her life to an end. She was stripped of her status and reduced to a commoner, suffering in the cold palace, while her elder sister wore the phoenix crown and embroidered robes and celebrated her wedding night. She had harmed countless people, only to clear the way for her sister's marriage. She became a pawn her husband used to protect his beloved. For his sake, she fought treacherous officials, consorts, and petty schemers. She spent her whole life at the center of every storm. She committed every manner of evil, yet made her sister seem gentle, virtuous, and noble. She died, and everyone said it was only right, that Heaven's justice had come around. She had done so much evil that even Heaven would not spare her. Even after her death, not a single word about her appeared in the histories. She was like a shooting star flashing across the night sky, leaving nothing behind but endless calamity. But if she could live again, Su Jinyan would never become Gu Shanglu's empress. The world loves the verse, “May we be of one heart, and never part until our hair turns white.” But reborn, Su Jinyan loves only, “I hear you have two hearts, so I have come to sever our bond.” “Su Jinyan, are you willing to become my empress?” “I am not.” “Why not?” “Empresses have always met tragic ends. If I'm to be anything, I'll be a favored consort.” “Very well. Then I'll spoil you until you're the most arrogant favored consort of all.” A satisfying rebirth-and-revenge story with a golden finger. The heroine is outwardly patient and sweet on the surface at first, but later becomes scheming, ruthless, and merciless. The powerful hero dotes on his wife, and together the couple build a kingdom.
