Synopsis

The ninth year of Wude.

This was the year the Xuanwu Gate Incident was just around the corner.

It was also the year Cheng Ce entered Chang’an, read Li Shimin’s fortune, and officially stepped onto the stage of the Tang Empire.

Only then did Cheng Ce realize, to his amazement, that something was seriously off about this Tang Empire!

When Yuchi Gong challenged Cheng Ce to a friendly match, he smashed a thousand-jin boulder with his bare hands!

When the scholars of Chang’an challenged Cheng Ce to a battle of words, those rascals actually turned their verbal attacks into tangible weapons, leaving Cheng Ce in quite a bind!

This was a mythical version of the Tang Empire, plain and simple!

Yet just as everyone expected Cheng Ce to rise to great heights, he was thrown straight into the imperial prison.

The reason? When Li Er decided to arrange a marriage for Cheng Ce, everyone rejoiced, but Cheng Ce alone said nothing.

Then he calmly uttered a few shocking words.

“A real man should marry a virtuous woman, not an ancestor!”

The Ming, Song, and Tang Dynasties

Are there really no stories about the Liao, Jin, Yuan-Mongol, Dali, and Tubo? Is it because there aren't enough sources or historical records? Did we all have different textbooks in our nine years of compulsory education? Do I have to look up local gazetteers?

A Legitimate Tang Dynasty Prince Raised Away from Home, with Changsun Wuji as His Maternal Uncle

Li Shimin and Empress Zhangsun dote on the male lead, and Zhangsun Wuji and the others treat him well, too. I'm looking for a family story about parents who love their son and an uncle who spoils his nephew. I hope Zhangsun Wuji is a positive character with a happy ending, and that he dotes on the male lead.
