This book allowed me to see the cruelty of war and the complexity of human nature. The protagonist Lale still maintains her kindness and courage in such a harsh environment, which is really admirable. He was like a ray of light in the darkness, giving a glimmer of hope to those in dire straits. This reminds me of a friend of mine who always lends a helping hand when others need help, even if he himself is in difficulty. I think we should all be kind people like Lale and my friends.
