In "1984", the world is divided between three superpowers. The wars between the three countries continue. The internal social structure of the countries is completely broken. They all implement highly centralized rule and suppress people's thoughts and instincts by extreme means such as changing history, changing language, and breaking up families. The story describes the process in which the protagonist Winston, a peripheral party member of Oceania's "Ministry of Truth" who is engaged in falsifying history, gradually becomes suspicious of the society and leader "Big Brother" in which he lives, and develops feelings for another peripheral party member, Julia, and becomes a thought prisoner. After undergoing ideological transformation by the "Ministry of Friendship", which is responsible for internal cleansing, he finally becomes a "pure thinker".

This book reminded me of some real-life phenomena. Sometimes, we also fall into a feeling of being controlled and monitored, unable to freely express our thoughts and emotions. The character Winston in the book resonated with me very much. It was really not easy for him to maintain his ability to think in such an environment. This book gave me a lot of inspiration and made me cherish freedom and the right to think more.
