This book is a biography of the famous mathematician Paul Erdos. Erdos was one of the world's greatest mathematicians of the 20th century, and undoubtedly one of the most eccentric and unique. Erdos was born in Hungary, a country with numerous mathematical talents, into a Jewish family with a gathering of scientific elites. Erdos was known as a child prodigy since he was a child. He was kicked out of the United States by the American McCarthyists, and he wandered around the world all his life. Erdos never married and had no fixed career, but he devoted himself to science. He worked eighteen or nineteen hours a day and traveled around the world all year round to discuss mathematical problems with colleagues in the mathematical community. Erdos's brain was filled with mathematical problems, theorems, conjectures, and proofs all day long. This book also introduces some of the world-famous problems that Erdos is concerned about. Such as Goldbach's conjecture, Fermat's last theorem, and many anecdotes in the history of mathematics. Erdos is a scientist with a sense of justice. He loves his motherland, his mother and his children. For him, mathematics is his life, his everything. He has an open mind and a colorful life. Professor Wang Yuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous mathematician, personally participated in and organized the translation of this book. This is a gift from the older generation of scientists to the majority of young mathematics enthusiasts.
