Childhood Sweethearts

She once had a dashing young man, and he had a childhood sweetheart of his own.

Her mother had told her that the only thing a woman needed to do after marrying a man was try her best to win his heart, because without him, she would have nothing in this life.

The dashing young man in her heart had already started a family. In time, she came to terms with it and began waiting endlessly for him as he went out night after night, doing everything she could for him.

Just as her waiting heart turned to ashes, he kindled a fierce fire in her heart. But in the end, it was too late to win her back.

Nothing hurts more than a heart that has given up. She left for a distant place, believing she would never again be moved by anyone or anything. Yet when she heard that he had been injured and hospitalized because of her, the ashes in her heart were stirred once more. She rushed to his side, heedless of everything, weeping and calling out to him.
