He keeps calling himself a rotten person, but his heart is as pure as crystal. Ji Ruchu thinks she's only attracted to Wen Yan's looks, but before she knows it, she's fallen deeply in love. The boy she likes is a lofty, untouchable figure on a pedestal, so pure that even moonlight pales beside him. How could Ji Ruchu dare get anywhere near him?

Some reunions bring back childish promises made before either of them knew how big the world was. At first, Wen Yan simply feels sorry for the girl next door. But after stepping in to help her again and again, he becomes Ji Ruchu's salvation. He repeatedly contradicts her self-deprecation, telling her that she's wonderful. He holds her slender, leaf-thin body close and proves through the years and his actions that, “No matter how far the mountains stretch or how long the rivers run, if you look back, I'll always be right behind you.”

“Wen Yan will always take Ji Ruchu's side, no matter what.”
