Slowly, Brilliantly

To Lin Jinxiao

You say the most vivid things in the world are the notes dancing across a stage, but I think nothing in the whole world is more vivid than you standing before me.

You’re optimistic and cheerful, yet more mature than others your age.

You’re top of the class in every subject, but a little fool when it comes to love.

Your thoughtfulness lets you accept all my shortcomings.

Every word and action of yours is etched in my mind.

The time I spend with you is precious beyond words. You are Lin Jinxiao, and you are the unforgettable night I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

“So… you wrote this letter just so you could sing ‘Unforgettable Night’?”

“Hey! Are you allergic to romance or something?!”

-

Mostly sweet, with a little angst
