The storyline of this book is very attractive, especially the experience of Gubarev, which made me feel the cruelty of war and the impermanence of fate. The author's description of details, such as the leaves in the birch forest and the humidity of the air, made me feel like I was actually there. However, I kind of hate Gubarev in the story. Although he encountered misfortune, he did not try to change his fate after becoming a tramp, which is regrettable. Overall, this is a book worth reading.
