I'm sure many people have read famous detective and mystery novels such as Sherlock Holmes, Detective Conan, and The Kindaichi Case Files. Whenever we read these novels, or watch some of our homegrown detective dramas, the famous detectives mentioned are usually from other countries. Does that mean China has no renowned detective of its own? With that in mind, I resolved to create a great Chinese detective of our own. And so Jiang Yelong was born...
Jiang Yelong works in the editorial department of a news agency. While traveling to Taihe City with his colleagues, a murder takes place. Jiang Yelong had also had a dispute with the victim, so he is framed. To find the person who set him up, Jiang Yelong decides to solve the case, and thus begins his career as a detective.
Locked-room murders, snowbound mountain retreats, and adventures on isolated islands: all these baffling cases are brought vividly to life. One gripping scheme after another, one brilliant deduction after another. With a single declaration, "The case is solved!" he stuns everyone and leaves the culprit nowhere to hide.
The cases are classic mysteries, featuring elaborate schemes and a serialized format in which each case forms its own unit. The cases are independent, yet closely connected. Every mystery is entirely original, with no plagiarism whatsoever, and true to the classic detective genre.
At the end of the story, Jiang Yelong breaks both arms while saving his younger sister and becomes the "one-armed detective." From then on, he roams the land, solving cases wherever he goes, and is remembered by all.
