From a remote mountain village to the big city, twenty turbulent years. Feng Jianguo and his wife, Shen Shuhui, face one challenge after another with their three children. Every time, they escape disaster and turn misfortune into good fortune. Is it all down to luck, or have their honesty and hard work moved the heavens? The story may seem quiet, yet life is always on the brink of upheaval. Each tender little moment is part of the road our generation of the 1990s walked, one step at a time. Every reader born in the 1990s will find echoes of their own past in this book.
Although it's not over yet. I don't know what the result will be, but I'm a bit "addicted" now, and I'm looking forward to it. . . .
It's very realistic, especially the description of the birth part. I gave birth to a baby last year, and it hurt like hell. After my water broke, I was lying in the delivery room. The doctors and nurses were really cruel. They said they wouldn't even give birth to a baby. If you want to know everything, you would come to the hospital to do whatever you want... The mother was in so much pain that she wanted to die, and the doctors and nurses were so cruel. It seemed like she had committed a crime by going to give birth...
Come on, look forward to updates.
This is the most life-like novel I have ever read. Although the text is simple, it is very chewy to read. The storyline has ups and downs, but it is layered and evocative. Two words "good book".
A very nice book, written very truthfully and realistically. Chinese-style giving parents, three children with different personalities and different lives. It just ended a little too quickly and left much to be desired.
My parents raised three children, but none of them made them worry. I didn't see any of the children that made their parents happy. They only saw the parents' efforts for their children. How sad.
Writer, I'm addicted to the novels you wrote. Don't worry, I will keep reading them.
It's a very good book that you can stay up late to read.
The writing is very real, and it is about the people around me.
A very down-to-earth book
