Why does humanity develop technology? For its own sake.
In the interstellar age, technological development ultimately returned to the self of life. Life sciences achieved brilliant breakthroughs: all tools became living things, and all living things became tools. Aside from the self that is life consciousness, everything became a tool of life. A planet was a field among the stars, a star system was a vast field, and the entire star domain was an ocean of fields among the stars.
A citizen of a cosmic civilization, reborn on Earth, swore to leave the planet and return to that ocean of fields among the stars.
