The Storm of Zhengde (Two Volumes)

This book is a historical novel written by Wei Qingyuan, a professor at Renmin University of China, after ten years of hard work. The novel takes Zhu Houzhao, the absurd emperor of the Ming Dynasty, as the main character. It follows the original historical development line and is reasonably filled with literary flesh and blood to fully depict various characters centered on the Zhengde Emperor. In writing, the author referred to official Ming Dynasty archives and private collections of poems and essays, and conducted detailed analysis and macro-discussions on political affairs and characters. There are nearly a hundred characters in the book, and the author pays attention to describing the characteristics of each person, and describes them vividly. It can be said to be a rich academic monograph and a true historical novel.
