In the eighth year of Tang Tianbao's reign, the Anshi Rebellion occurred, and the Hexi Corridor fell into Tubo. The people of the Tang Dynasty were exploited and bullied by Tubo foreigners. The Zhang family, a local gentry, could not bear the humiliation, so they led the local villagers to revolt, thus starting a vigorous war to resist the foreigners and return to the Tang Dynasty.
