On the first day I returned to the village with my three-month-old daughter, the whole village came to gawk at me, the “good-for-nothing” young man who had come back from the city.
I calmly mixed formula and changed my daughter’s diapers, handling everything so deftly that the village aunties were left speechless with admiration.
Then the village chief’s grandson came down with a high fever and knocked on my door in the middle of the night.
I took out the first-aid kit I’d brought from the city and used a folk remedy to bring the fever down.
The next day, my house became a temporary pediatric clinic, and the village beauty blushed as she asked me, “Could you teach me how to take care of a child?”
I looked at my daughter blowing bubbles in my arms and smiled.
Maybe being a country dad isn’t so bad after all.
I am shameless, good-looking, and love watching. Please give me more five-star reviews [blowing kisses]
