I found this book because I like the movie of the same name. It is as classic as "The Lover" and both are female writers. The story takes place in exotic Africa and Vietnam, war, uncertainty in life, and a tragic story. The love in it is even more touching and heartbreaking, or there is "The English Patient". Most of the heroine's lives don't quite conform to worldly rules. Judging from the writer's life, this misfortune just ignited her inner talent and sensibility, allowing her to see a deeper side of the world and human nature than her contemporaries. Several movie adaptations have been very successful and have become classics among classics.
