The characters in the book are also very interesting, their actions and thoughts are so strange that you can't help but want to keep reading. Stern is truly a very talented writer, and his language and imagination are astonishing. I especially like the unconventional narrative methods in the book, which make people feel very fresh and interesting. However, there are also some characters that I hate, such as Mrs. Tristram Shandy who is always complaining. She is really annoying! But that's part of the beauty of Stern's writing, his ability to make you emotionally connect with these characters, even if they're not perfect.
