We Are Young

The original novel behind the TV series We Are Young. When the new recruits arrived, male soldier Xu Xiaobin and female soldier Xu Xiaobing had such similar names that whenever they were called at roll call, they would both answer, “Here!” The whole squad would burst into laughter. After this happened again and again, the two became enemies, and Xu Xiaobing angrily changed her name to Xu Bing. Later, Xu Bing and Xu Xiaobin both got into college, and their company put up a big red congratulatory banner, joking that the two were destined to soar together. You can't keep old rivals apart: years later, the two “mortal enemies” really did get married. Xu Xiaobin was still bullied by Xu Bing, but his habit of being afraid of his wife was all because he loved her. Squad leader Meng Yonggan shared a bunk bed with Xu Xiaobin and was his close friend. After his buddy got married, Meng often couldn't stand how Xu Xiaobin always acted like he was afraid of his wife. Hoping to help Meng Yonggan enjoy the same loving married life, Xu Xiaobin and Xu Bing set out to pair him up with Ni Shuangying, a refined young lady who had transferred to their squad.
