In a narrow alley, Jiang Nian was cornered by a few thugs. Just as she started rolling up her sleeves, someone pulled her aside. "A good girl like you can fight?" The boy's voice was rich and smooth, like fine liquor. As the crowd egged them on, Jiang Nian seemed bewitched and rose onto her tiptoes to kiss him.
When they met again, he was just as laid-back as ever.
A boy glanced at her and asked, "Do you know this girl?"
With Jiang Nian watching, he answered coolly,
"No. I've kissed her."
Later, at A University, Jiang Nian was asked why she'd been so bold back then.
She said something that the boy would never forget:
"I'd rather confess openly and get rejected than say nothing and miss my chance."
I dedicate this book to the crushes of youth, and to all those dreams that kept us tossing and turning.
Take a look.
