"The History of Absurd Medicine: China" is a humorous reading book that deeply studies some weird but real human methods of curing diseases in ancient and modern China. Blood test, immortality alchemy, willow branch bone grafting, chicken blood therapy, thigh cutting for marriage, urine therapy and other strange medical techniques... These ridiculous medical "topics" reveal the "eighteen bends on the mountain road" that humans have traveled in search of health for a long time. This book covers rich history, culture, science, medicine and other aspects of knowledge, and is both interesting and informative. In addition, each section of the book is equipped with rich pictures, which increases the readability and attractiveness of the article.

It turns out that therapies we think of as ridiculous now may have been considered routine in the past. This also makes me appreciate the progress of modern medicine even more, and reminds me not to blindly believe in some "recipes" that have no scientific basis. However, while reading, I also felt that human beings are really full of all kinds of wonderful ideas in the pursuit of health!
It's good to know the history😄
How should I put it? I really like this kind of weird science popularization (I guess)
I like this book very much
