The Wandering Tavern: Soul Ferry

During a thousand-year gap, someone laid out a game of chess for her. Everything could be put in check, yet she alone stood within the game, untouched and unharmed.

Xie Qi: How could I let you bear this age-old sin alone?

Lin Xi: People are no longer as they once were, but the wish in my heart remains as it always was, unchanged.

A mutual journey toward one another, with both leads intelligent and capable. The story alternates between ancient and modern times and is a slow burn.
