Synopsis

(Male and female leads, romantic fiction)

Ye Nanxi receives an imperial decree at the age of fifteen and becomes the revered empress overnight.

But the emperor is incompetent, tyrannical, and ruthless, casually seizing palace servants and drawing his sword to kill.

No matter what, Ye Nanxi refuses to entrust herself to the wrong person.

The palace is a maze, and the only one who can stand against the emperor is Empress Dowager Ji Lanqing.

Ye Nanxi comes across an illustrated book and discovers Ji Lanqing's secret: the supremely honored empress dowager has a hidden preference.

So Ye Nanxi uses herself as bait.

Only later does she realize that the secret she thought she had found was not the real secret, and that the empress dowager is nothing like the woman she imagined.

Please, I’m Looking for a Story with Two Female Leads...

No women disguised as men, no yandere or unhinged characters, and neither female lead should be an empress. Also, I don't want one female lead to have bullied the other because she liked her. No tragic stories, though a little angst is fine. I like true and fake heiress setups, and good-versus-evil stories. Please recommend pure romance.
