Kong Ciyue was the fiercest woman in Youde Town. By a twist of fate, she became the bride of Shen Mubai, the town's number-one wastrel. The townsfolk brought out their little stools to watch the show:
“Shen Mubai got dragged out of the Many Blossoms House by Kong Ciyue again!”
“Today Kong Ciyue chased Shen Mubai with a knife for ten streets. One street fewer than yesterday.”
At first, whenever Shen Mubai thought of the shrew at home, he could only grit his teeth and mutter behind her back, “What a shrew!”
Later, on the first day he couldn't see his wife, he missed her. On the second day, he missed her, missed her. On the third day, he missed her, missed her, missed her so much.
