A Simple Hope

A reunion story of mutual salvation, interwoven with the present and memories, with hints and foreshadowing. The relationship grows more profound as the story goes on, and it has a happy ending.

I used to live a quiet life, slowly rotting away.

Then you swept me into a storm of fierce emotions,

leaving me gasping as I rose and fell with the waves.

When I willingly let go of my strength, you held on to me with resolve,

leaving nowhere for the worst parts of me to hide,

forcing them out into the sunlight.

Now I can no longer stay calm,

but I have come alive again.

Perhaps I knew from the very beginning that our story would be one we both loved and suffered through.

What echoes simply? Who looks back in memory? Who gathers the pieces, and who forgets...

This world is so dull, hardly worth caring about.

And yet I still believe that our long separation and reunion were both meaningful.

The person I struggled so hard to save

turned out to be the only one who could save me.
