Synopsis

With political and revolutionary history as its main threads, this book also offers a comprehensive account of modern China's economic development, social life, intellectual and cultural currents, and the development of its frontier regions. Viewed through the lens of modernization, it presents a full and objective account of China's modern history.

The study of modern Chinese history is an important branch of Chinese historical scholarship in the twentieth century. Over that century, China transformed from a semi-colonial, semi-feudal society into a socialist society, undergoing earth-shaking changes. The study of modern Chinese history also changed dramatically. It emerged as a distinct field from traditional Chinese historiography. In the 1930s and 1940s, scholarship on modern Chinese history with a bourgeois orientation, serving the interests of the ruling class in a semi-colonial, semi-feudal society, held sway. Scholarship guided by Marxism arose during the New Democratic Revolution. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Marxist scholarship on modern Chinese history gradually became dominant.

It is simply a supplementary book on history. The content can fill up the entire class (even though I am still a primary school student).

I think this book is really good! It takes political history and revolutionary history as its main body, and also describes economic, social life, ideological and cultural aspects, etc., Which gave me a more comprehensive understanding of China's modern history. The book mentioned that "the development of history follows laws." This sentence touched me very much. We can learn from history and be better prepared to face the future. Moreover, the author lineup of this book is very authoritative and the content is very rich. It is worth reading!

Every event in modern history is introduced in great detail. Understand that today's peaceful society is hard-won. If you find it too verbose, you can read Common Sense of Chinese History.

The context of modern historical events is clear, the content of the analysis is substantial, and a large number of real historical documents are quoted. This book is a very suitable popular science book for understanding the development context of modern history. Thanks to the author's pen, it is dedicated to providing readers with spiritual food to understand modern history. Students who want to learn more about modern history are worth reading this book.
