Journey to the West: I’m a Mediocre Disciple of Bodhi, and the Monkey Overheard My Thoughts

Li Ling is reborn at Mount Fangcun's Three Star Cave, where he becomes a junior disciple of Patriarch Bodhi and obtains the [Mount Fangcun Sign-In System]. Signing in every day lets him cultivate automatically, and every so often he even receives a reward.

"After eight years of signing in, I've become a sage. I'm invincible under heaven, hoho..."

"You insolent disciple! Dozing off in class is one thing, but now you're talking in your sleep? Get out and stand in the hall!"

"Uh..."

Life had been pretty comfortable, lying flat with Father Bodhi looking out for him. Li Ling had nothing to worry about.

Until one day...

The Monkey King came up the mountain!

"You've finally arrived, junior brother."

"Finally? ..." The Monkey King looked utterly confused.

[Cultivating the Dao is so hard. Why bother when Flower-Fruit Mountain is so comfortable? What's the point of living forever? Good food and drink are what really matter!]

The Monkey King: "You've got a point, senior brother. Maybe I should just head back down the mountain."

The Monkey King, who could hear Li Ling's thoughts, really had no ambition and was getting ready to leave!

Only after lying low for a while did Li Ling realize: what kind of Journey to the West world was this?
