As the last part of the Medieval Trilogy, this one is very different from the previous two. The time span is large, and the region where the protagonist of the story is located spans a large area. It is also the one that took me the longest to read. In other words, it is the one that makes me least want to stay up all night reading. Originally, I didn't have much of an impression on this movie. At most, it described the decline of the Spanish Armada and the rise of Britain's enemy, the Sun Never Sets. Until I read the end of this book, I felt a lot. Perhaps because I am older, I have become more and more sympathetic to some of the descriptions of old age. I can't help but think about what I will be like when I reach that age, and who will be by my side at that time, and I can't help but feel a little tearful. It makes me feel that time is more and more precious. You should spend more time with family and friends in this limited time. When I get older it will be inconvenient for me to move. There are still these beautiful memories to accompany you.
I especially like the creation of the characters in the book, they are all vivid. As a mother who just gave birth to a child, I can feel the emotions of the characters in the book and have a deeper understanding of history. This book made me understand that the challenges and difficulties in life are temporary, and we must face it bravely and welcome a new beginning like the protagonist in the book. Highly recommended!

Although religious disputes continued in medieval Britain, people's struggle for freedom, tolerance and beauty never stopped, and they no longer feel that the misleading and fragmented definition of dark medieval Europe. The birth of the United States was the beginning of the British Puritans' exploration of the sea, their displacement, and their pioneering of new territories. This kind of history deserves respect.
Uncle Ken is good at telling stories, the plot is fascinating, the writing style is flowing, and the characters are lifelike. It is a rare reading feast.
