In 1940, my country's Anti-Japanese War entered a difficult period. In order to quickly move south to invade the whole of China, the Japanese army insisted on opening up the route from North China to Guangzhou and continued to increase troops to attack cities on this major railway transportation line in my country. The domestic anti-Japanese situation became increasingly severe. At the same time, the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China quickly inserted themselves behind enemy lines under the unfavorable circumstances of frontal battlefield operations, launched an extensive people's war, mobilized the masses of the people, and created anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines that attracted the world's attention. With the development and growth of the people's armed forces and the anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines, the anti-Japanese forces led by the Communist Party of China assumed the main responsibility for the war of resistance. It was against this backdrop that the Hundred Regiments War unfolded.
