Carrying Guanyin as I Tear Through the Heavens

Chen Chuanjiang and Guanyin died inside Lingxiao Palace. Reborn, they became husband and wife, raised children, and cultivated together!

Many folk legends contradict one another. The Jade Emperor has daughters, yet immortals are forbidden to fall in love. Buddhism preaches the severing of worldly passions, yet there is a Joyful Buddha. This book is a product of the contradictions caught between these ideas.

A note: Accounts differ on Guanyin’s gender. In China, Japan, and other East Asian countries, both Buddhists and ordinary people generally regard Guanyin as female.

Among the Four Great Classical Novels, Journey to the West has made the image of a female Guanyin especially familiar.

The Guanyin in this book is a woman. If you’re hoping to see Guanyin as a hulking man or a gender-bending figure, there’s no need to read on!
