Balzac's "Human Comedy" is like a social encyclopedia. The many typical characters in the book made me see the complexity of human nature. Just like when I was looking for a job after graduation, I met all kinds of people, some were kind and enthusiastic, while others were indifferent and selfish. These experiences gave me a deeper understanding of the characters in the book, and also made me cherish those sincere friends more. Moreover, the translation of this set of books is also very exquisite, allowing me to immerse myself in Balzac's literary world and feel his profound insight into human nature.

It is truly a golden code, and the golden code cannot be surpassed. The author likes to let a young person enter the upper class or a different place, use their eyes to observe and discover the ugliness of society. The characters in the novel are neither good nor evil, but truly flesh and blood. What's more interesting is that the characters in the novels are connected, which can be regarded as a little easter egg. More than a dozen articles are too many, so I will choose the one I like best. My favorites are Disillusionment and Yuxue. Yu Xuer really makes people feel like an angel, with a compassionate heart. Even when facing evil people, she faces it with a Christian heart. According to the author's past management, it is estimated that it will have a tragic ending, but such an angelic author cannot bear to let her fall into that situation, and let the power of miracles save her from fire and water, and live a happy life. The disillusionment is divided into two parts, one is when Lucien enters the Paris society and becomes corrupted, and the other is when David is assassinated for making paper. The interesting thing is not that all the mechanisms in the plot are exhausted, but the ending. Lucien became the secretary of the Spanish priest, while David was cheated of the formula but lived a good life. Although this is not the best ending, what I see is David's pure nature, his contentment with poverty, and the spirit of a scholar. Lucien atones for his sins. It is not the best ending, but it is better than the best ending.

Balzac was not a writer with the most perfect skills, but he was one of the giants who recorded the times most ambitiously, profoundly and truly. His greatness does not lie in the elegance of his words, but in embracing an era with all his life and carving it flesh and blood into the monument of literature. In China, his status may be suspected of being "inflated", but in the coordinate system of world literature, he is always that heavy and fiery star that cannot be ignored.
