Xu Lan, a woman who lived only to support her younger brother, finally came to her senses just before she died. She spent her whole life working like an ox for her parents and brother, only to be kicked out of the family home and worked to death.
Reborn in the 1980s, she looks at her starving sister- and brother-in-law and resolves to be a good sister-in-law and build a decent life. As for her birth family, they can go sit wherever it’s cool.
Her parents panic when their daughter stops supporting them. Her younger brother panics when his sister no longer helps him. And all the awful relatives who want to push her around panic, too.
But the most panicked of all is Xu Lan’s good-for-nothing husband, who makes a living through shady speculation: “Someone must have swapped my wife out for another woman!”
It's okay. It's okay to take a look at it in your spare time. You don't need to care too much about so many details.
The novel is okay, but the ending is really embarrassing like a mainland drama. Maybe I'm too knowledgeable to understand it, hahaha
