The writing is really awesome, but it's really hard to read.
This book is like a picture of European society on the eve of World War I. The author Thomas Mann portrays each character in a profound way. I feel like Hans Castorp in the book, busy in the city but occasionally getting lost. But the stories in the book also made me understand that we can decide to be the protagonist of our own lives at any time and overcome those difficulties!
Stream of consciousness, no plot, but the beauty of the language kept me reading!
My understanding is limited. It's a bit difficult to see. But there seems to be a magic force pulling me to look down.
