Land surveyor K was ordered to take up his post in the castle, but was unexpectedly stopped outside the castle. K temporarily lived in a village outside the castle and tried his best to enter the castle, but the dreamlike heavy snow, the indifferent and weird villagers, and the director of the castle office who could never see him seemed to be doing everything possible to thwart him.
The castle seemed close at hand, but K could not enter the castle no matter what.

The castle restricts our lives from above, and we seem to be used to being ruled by the castle. Outsider K was very ambitious at first and tried every means to get close to the castle, but the harder he tried, the further away he got. Maybe a down-to-earth work and life is the way to reach the castle. Don't lose the people who love you for the sake of a distant castle.
The plot of this book attracted me very much. K's efforts to enter the castle made me feel his persistence and determination. I really like the characters in the book, K and his two assistants are very distinctive. Kafka's description made me feel as if I was actually there, feeling K's confusion and the mystery of the castle. This book made me think about a lot of issues about myself and reality. It's really worth reading!
