The Immortal

When war breaks out, the enemy splits its forces in two: one launches an armed invasion, while the other unleashes a biological invasion. The village where Lu Shaofei lives is attacked by venomous giant lizards bred by the enemy, and the people rise up to resist. Lu Shaofei gradually grows into a true, battle-hardened man... After the war, Lu Shaofei goes traveling, only to stumble into a biological research facility in a neighboring country. He is sentenced to death for destroying the facility... A renowned medical professor tries to bring him back to life by storing Lu Shaofei's consciousness in a computer System. But a System malfunction cuts Lu Shaofei off from the outside world... His friends venture deep into the System to find him, only to discover that one of them has become a cat inside it... This is a suspenseful sci-fi work built around biological technology and a System, reflecting many issues in real life. The book consists of eight short stories that form a continuous narrative, though each can also stand on its own.
