"The Silver Age" is about intellectuals who grew up in the 20th century and lived into the next century. In the process of survival across centuries, they recalled and described their predecessors, and at the same time compared their own lives. This is less a prediction of the future world than a parable of modern life, a dystopian story. Not only is the future world where the protagonist lives not better than the present, but it intensifies the absurdity of modern life. Intellectuals, as individuals, are thrown into increasingly ridiculous situations.
