It is based on the changes in coastal cities after the reform and opening up, and shows the interpersonal relationships and living conditions during the social transformation period through the disintegration of work units, family ethics and other dimensions. The book takes the funeral scene in a mountain village as the starting point, develops a narrative around six female groups known as 'goddess', and explores ethical dilemmas in the context of modernity.
