In 662 AD, the second year of the Longshuo era of the Tang Dynasty, Tibet and the Tang Empire fiercely contested the Western Regions. The Western Turkic Khaganate repeatedly aligned itself with Tibet, which captured the Four Garrisons of Anxi several times. In 698 AD, the first year of the Shengli era, the Tang and Tibet made peace and established the Shenlong border treaty. Tibet withdrew from its contest for the Western Regions. From 704 to 754, during the reign of Khri Lde-gtsug-brtsan, the Tang and Tibet went to war again over whether to honor the treaty. Tibet suffered more defeats than victories, and made little headway in expanding into the Western Regions. This story takes place in 754 AD, the thirteenth year of the Tianbao era.
The description of the war in the book is definitely very exciting. I can't wait to know what the fate and story of the protagonists will be in that changing era. As the book says, "A war broke out again between Tang and Tubo over whether to abide by the Shenlong Covenant." This was certainly an era full of conflicts and challenges. I'm looking forward to reading more stories about that era!
Good works, like them, I like to listen to them
