Fierce-Blooded Western Liaoning

The Lushan Independent Regiment, part of the Twelfth Route Army of the Anti-Japanese Forces in western Liaoning, is made up of former Northeastern Army troops, Mongolian horse thieves, Taoist priests, bandits, and local people. Led by Tian Baozi, a young Taoist priest from Shengqing Palace on Mount Lushan, they raise the banner of resistance and ride across western Liaoning and the borderlands of Inner Mongolia, fighting between Mount Lushan and the Liao River. They kill Japanese soldiers and traitors, sabotage railway and highway transport lines, and smash the enemy’s brutal sweeps, repeatedly completing difficult missions assigned by the Kuomintang’s western Liaoning anti-Japanese headquarters with distinction. Meanwhile, guided and trained by the Chinese Communist Party’s Northern Manchurian anti-Japanese guerrillas, the unit is tempered by blood and fire, life and death, and undergoes a transformation that deepens its convictions. It gradually grows into a force of heroic fighters who defend their homes and country and uphold the dignity of their people.
