This book is a famous revolutionary-themed novel written by the Soviet writer Selafimovich. It takes the 1918 civil war after the October Revolution as its theme. It tells the story of the Red Army in Guban, leading the families and people of the mutilated Red Army, breaking through the siege of the rebels and the White Army, and carrying out heroic transfers. It reflects the life-and-death struggle between the exploiting class and the exploited class during the Soviet Civil War, and shows the process of the soldiers growing from a rabble into a well-disciplined "iron stream." This book also had a great influence in China because of Mr. Lu Xun's active introduction and promotion.

Well written! But why are the sentences translated so completely incomprehensible?
