This novel consists of five stories: "The Legend of Heixiazigou", "The Legend of Baozigou", "The Legend of Yelanggou", "The Wild Boar King of Xing'an" and "The Legend of Hufeng Mountain". It describes the heroic deeds of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces in their battle of wits and courage with the Japanese invaders among the white mountains and black waters during the Anti-Japanese War. The plot is compact and fascinating.
