"Jin Ping Mei", also known as "Jin Ping Mei Ci Hua", is the first full-length vernacular world affairs chapter novel independently created by a literati in Chinese history. The book was written between the Longqing and Wanli years of the Ming Dynasty, and the author signed it Lanling Xiaoxiaosheng. "The Plum in the Golden Ping" uses a story about Wu Song's murder of his sister-in-law in "Water Margin" as an introduction.
