"The Plague" tells a story about courage. The story revolves around Dr. Rieux, who lives in the city of Oran. Oran City is an ordinary city. It is near the sea, the weather is mild, and people live peacefully. But one day, the plague quietly spread here. The residents of Oran City went from initial suspicion, to fear of not knowing what was wrong, to panicked escape, to finally facing this sudden disaster. They experienced an unprecedented psychological war. In this disaster, the protagonist Dr. Rieux and his friends did not escape. They responded calmly and actively defeated the disaster. If this disaster had not happened, they would all be ordinary members of Oran City. This work shows the great liberal humanitarian spirit of people rising up with fearless spirit in the face of disaster and insisting on truth and justice in despair.
