In That Life, I Met You: the Life of the Sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso

The language in this book is beautiful and picturesque. But Tsangyang Gyatso described in this book is really not happy. Selfish, narrow-minded, what he is pursuing is just to fill the emptiness in his heart in the name of love. Constantly let down, constantly hurt. What is decadent, what is sad, what is his personal significance. What did he do for religion, what did he do for family, what did he do for love, and what did he do for friendship. His life was without faith. He failed Diba, his parents, the three girls, Sanyang, and the trust of the Tibetan people. It can be said that he is helpless and passively accepts it, but he has a sense of superiority regarding his religious status. For others' contributions, they feel it is a matter of course; for others' departure, they feel it is a betrayal. I don't feel sorry for Tsangyang Gyatso like this, nor do I find it sad or touching. If it's sad, it's because of the people around him who have been let down.

The author's writing is wonderful, especially his ending, which gave me great comfort. For the first time, I understood that the two poems "That Life" and "See or Not See" were not written by Tsangyang Gyatso. These two poems are my favorites.
