The Romance of the Three Kingdoms takes the rise and fall of the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu as clues. It describes the political and military struggles within the ruling group and among the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu. It reflects the turbulent social conditions at that time and shaped many characters such as Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, Zhou Yu, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei.
