Xue Kui is a character in "Xue Dingshan's Conquest of the West" and "Xue Gang's Revolt against the Tang Dynasty". When Xue Gang went to Beijing to plant willows on the tomb during the Qingming Festival, his wife Ji Luanying happened to be pregnant with Liujia. Xue Gang then named Sunflower, saying that if a girl was born, Ji Luanying would name her, and if a boy was born, he would be named Xue Kui.
It is said that he is the reincarnation of Tieshi Xingguan in the upper realm. He is the grandson of Xue Dingshan and the son of Xue Gang.
