A thrilling battle to defend the realm, an epic ballad of a turbulent age, and a heroic love story worth singing about.
“Red lotus roots fade, jade mats turn cold in autumn.” Zhu Yudian was a noble Ming princess, but after her mother was framed by wicked schemers, she was cast adrift in the martial world. She grew into a peerless heroine, with skills that seemed almost divine and beauty like a flower. She thought she could leave the palace behind for good and roam the martial world with her sword, but her enemies pursued her at every turn, leaving her no peace.
The characters in this book have distinct personalities. Zhu Yujian remains strong despite hardships, which is admirable. And Xue Hanqiu's chivalrous character and soft intestines are also impressive. The author uses delicate descriptions to make the characters come alive, as if you can see them enjoying their grudges in the world. The plot of the story is full of ups and downs, gripping and addictive. What a great book worth reading!
