After arguing with a Daoist, Han Hui makes a bet with him. They'll each handle the job separately and see who finishes first. The winner gets the money, and the loser can never call himself a Daoist again. They head to a mountain village where people still practice burial in the ground. The atmosphere is a little eerie. Guided by the construction crew, they really do see what people call a zombie. But even when Han Hui touches it, he hears no System notification. He can't help wondering why. The crew explains that the village still practices burial in the ground because they dug up this thing, and now the villagers refuse to let anyone move it, saying it would anger the Grand Duke Jupiter. Han Hui laments how ignorant the residents are. Chen Qingfeng then says this isn't a zombie at all, and backs up his claim with sound reasoning. Everyone believes Chen Qingfeng even more, and Han Hui is ignored because of his youth. Chen Qingfeng taunts him, and Han Hui retorts that Daoist Chen won't beat him.
Just then, something eerie happens at the construction site. Since it's already night, the site should be deserted, yet the sound of countless footsteps rings out. Han Hui is overjoyed. There could be lots of ghosts, and lots of ghosts mean lots of attribute points. Even Daoist Chen proceeds cautiously, but Han Hui charges out like a madman. Everyone is stunned. But Han Hui is also the male lead, and the System gives him no notification at all. He doesn't see any ghostly figures either. He wonders whether the System has stopped working, then checks his stats and finds that his psychic ability is fine.
Something strange happens again when they return that night, but Han Hui realizes that it is actually a spell formation, not a haunting. Following Han Hui's directions, the crew digs up a huge steel plate beneath the site, covered in hair. The Daoist immediately recognizes it as a formation set up by another Daoist, targeting the construction site. Someone probably doesn't want the crew there. But while investigating the formation, Han Hui once again encounters the drowned ghost who looks exactly like Liu Yiyi. The two incidents seem to be connected, and Liu Yiyi's death may not have been an accident.
